Furious for almost believing her con, Gene sent Heather away and then paid the price.

Four hours later, after dinner, protected—and unbelievable— sex, she was back in the dingy motel room on her phone. "I'm in as solidly as can be with him. He's skittish as hell about trusting anyone. If you can't trust the people who are supposed to love you, how can you trust anyone, right?"

She shifted uncomfortably at the response she heard. "I know, I know, and you should know I may have made a really bad mistake. I slept with him."

Holding the phone away from her ear saved it from damage. "You aren't saying anything I haven't said to myself. It was dumb, unprofessional, not like me, and may cause problems. For one thing, there's no safe way to work the brother now, but I really think Gene is the key. What we came for is in that meadow. I'm sure of it. I don't know whether or not he knows. He really rejected the idea of treasure…Yeah, well, he's not exactly the favorite son. He is, however, the one who owns that meadow. He didn't completely reject the psychic bit though. I'm pushing the whole thing along by suggesting a time limit.

Reviews

Thirteen Souls is an unforgettable novel.  The plot grabbed my attention from the first page and held it until the last.  The characters are multifaceted and have great depth.  I had the privilege of reviewing Evil Reflections by Larion Wills; I enjoyed it very much, but this one is even better.    Wills sheds light on family abuse.  Her message is you do not deserve to be beaten.  It is not your fault.  Paranormal, romance, mystery, suspense, and thriller make this a top-rated novel.  Kudos, Ms. Wills!  I can hardly wait to read her next offering.
